Coimbatore

Success!! We have landed in Coimbatore with all our bags, passports, money, and selves. Dr Blenner was waiting for us at the gate with two very kind women from PSG college of nursing. One bus took our luggage and one bus took us. Driving through the city was pure madness. People still out and about despite the late hour. Cars honking at seemingly every little thing they can think of. And driving like madmen of course. The way the city looked reminded me of when my family first arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica in 2006 (minus all the crazed soccer fans). Shops and restaurants everywhere, but every building looking pretty worn. When we arrived we unloaded our bags at the dorm-like "guest house." Even in the dark the college looks like a beautiful green place. Our rooms are small and remind me of the dorms we stayed in for music camp at northwest college. But we don't really need much. Our "mattresses" are 2 inch thick hard pads. But I'm so tired tonight I don't think ill even mind. We were escorted back downstairs for dinner: Spanish-style rice with peppers and tomatoes, a curry-like brown sauce with strange mushy bits served over toast, and a bitter sticky wet white rice with jalapenos in it. Oh boy, this may take some getting used to. After dinner we headed straight back to our rooms to shower and pass out which is what ill do right nowwww. Zzzzz xoxo.
